Dakota and Elle Fanning teamed up once again, this time for a drama film The Nightingale, set during the Second World War.
The real-life sisters will play on-screen sisters in a World War II drama based off a book written by Kristin Hannah. Set in a small village in France, the story follows two sisters, Vianne Mauriac and Isabelle Rossignol. One was forced to house a German officer and had to make one difficult decision after another. While the other was vehement in resisting the German invasion of France.
Aside from the Fanning sisters, Melanie Laurent and Dana Stevens were onboard as the director and screenwriter, respectively. Elizabeth Cantillon of Cantillon Company will be the film’s producer.
The film was originally set to be released on December 22 of this year. However, the released date had been pushed to December 23, 2022, due to the pandemic.
